INTELLIGENT DESIGN OR PITRES?

The theory of evolution is a scientific theory: It does not pretend to have all the answers, insisting instead on the methodology used in asking pertinent questions and obtaining verifiable results. Moreover the theory of evolution did evolve significantly since Darwin both as a theory and as a set of results, including a new understanding of some regressions etc... As a methodology it is the only one that is acceptable since it forbids to draw any conclusions concerning matters which have nothing to do with evolution per se, that is to say with the historical genesis of the world and its elements, including Man as a Being possessing a conscience and the conscience of his conscience. The strayed assertions offered by theocratic anti-evolutionist theoreticians (more exactly vulgar and illegitimate theologiansin disguise) are thus totally unscientific. They are but the charlatanism of agitated pitreswho, as such, should be barred from all institutions of knowledge. In reality the followers of this philo-Semite Nietzschean science should be asked to revise their Modes of reasoning course 101. Their real place would be within legitimate and lawful religious and metaphysical organizations confined in the private sphere outside the political life of the Polis. Lest we forget, this strictly follows from the constitutional separation of Church and State.

Here are some rhetorical questions offered as a prophylactic remedy against the returnto an armed brand of obscurantism:

1) Intelligent designimplies an intelligent Being (either Good or Bad Evil? - for that matter). However, if you suppose the existence of one such Being why not suppose the existence of two or n such Beings ... for instance according to an extrapolation of Lobaschevsky? And if you allow the existence of at least two, how do you separate the good corn from the bad weeds other than by the scientific method resting on the inductively (1) sure axiom of human equality without which no discourse nor any intersubjectivitywould ever be possible? Other than schizophrenia what proofs do the proponents of the intelligent design}'' beliefs have to hazard their ideology? But if so, what exactly does schizophrenia have to do with evolution or ''creation'' as such? Pitres and double pitres! 2) If an intelligent designdoes exist (despite it being a philo-Semite Nietzschean concept developed by the Anglo-Saxons despite Darwin), why is it that capitalism can destroy with impunity thousands of endangered species each year through an extreme form of exploitation that is harmful for the Planet and for life in general? Aren't these species the result of the same intelligent designof Creation, or did the original intelligent designsuddenly change its mind as it went in order to comply with a very silly Nietzschean fad? Trials, errors and correction of errors might indeed be part of intelligence per se, a reassuring and authentically Darwinian thought. Yet, why should this be attained through these indiscriminate slaughters precisely at a time when modern science has established the existence of a common genetic heritage shared by all living species on Earth? Would the most tragic consequences ever produced by all societies based on the exploitation of Man by Man, now culminating with capitalism, all of a sudden have turned into the summum of the possible manifestations of this intelligent design? For what cause exactly?

3) The Enlightenment once thought to distinguish between the divine, the natural and the human realms. It finally opted for a strict separation of transcendence (largely moral) from immanence. It did this through a long process going, among others, from Galileo, Copernic and Spinoza to Einstein and beyond, despite the rearguard battles of a Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a Jesuit who attempted to paint himself out of his little corner by surreptitiously reimporting metaphysical considerations within science! In other words, the theories of intelligent designhave nothing to do with the methodological and theoretical basic scientific necessity consisting in an incessant confrontation of existing theories with new facts. On the contrary, they specifically relate to the cast-oriented intent to fabricate an utilitarian and theocratic pseudo-scientificphilo-Semite Nietzschean consensus, or any other similar inegalitarian wish to social-engineer social reality for purely egoistic and cynical aims. The artificial building of this consensus is strongly backed by the presence of numerous compassionate or cast derived diplomas(a true misery induced by a brand of inegalitarian pity that naturally produced perverse side effects but which nonetheless is propagated as a new meritocracy!). This is currently sustained by the systemic over-representation within all universities and institutes of these contingents of debased asses of untrustworthy weight, mostly notable for their arrogance, a trait no doubt induced by an undeniable design'' imagined by a ''pure philo-Semite Nietzschean intelligence. Worthy of G. W. Bush and his main advisers in matters of preventive wars! As is well known Nietzsche wanted to eradicate compassionand egalitarianismfrom the Gospels. As good and studiously awakenedstudents, these followers of the intelligent designideology now want to purge them from the Old Testament and from the Ark of Noa's tale while indulging without any sense of shame in their ignorant and usual anachronisms. And in so doing in blaspheming in a characteristic manner the very historically dated metaphors they pretend to respect most literally, studiously avoiding in he process to ever mention that they were borrowed without much credit for intellectual property from the Epopee of Gilgamesh (see In Praise of Reason and the Secular State, in the ''Exclusivism/Fascism/Racism'' section in this same site) by a marginal and impoverished nomadic culture born in the Mesopotamian cradle and barely surviving in the marches of Ancient Mideast empires!

4) Would the crusading Nietzschean Tartuffes (2) of the intelligent designprank be ready to pledge their positions on their ability to produce a scientific proof at least as strong as that offered by the modern theory of evolution (including the compatible Lamarckian molecular processes experimentally exposed by Swedish scientists not too long ago) in favor of a biblical age of Earth of more or less 6000 years? If not, leaving aside the embarrassing Jericho business, they should tell us on what basis exactly they choose the criteria used to actually select what to believe or not to believe. Pocking holes in theories is a noble scientific duty. But an hazardous one too. Before attempting it, you should carefully ascertain first from which angle you are talking: if you are still traveling safely along the scientific road which, as is known, is far from being a Royal road, so much the better. But if you have already fallen into the obscurantist abyss, you actually will make a fool of yourself. This demand concerning the 6000 years is therefore not a rhetorical question. On the contrary, it should be construed as a simple question of decency within all institutions. Moreover, within all universities and institutes receiving public fundings, it should amount to an automatic and mandatory process of professional deontological enforcement, quickly acted upon as such.

First inevitable conclusion:

The criteria used for granting diplomas and screening potential job applicants need to be urgently revised (including in Yale University, with or despite its sacred chalice and its hushed and embarrassing relics)

Additional commentaries

When simpletons are at it (manly philo-Semite Nietzscheans and allied red necks and assorted crackpots spun by the Biblical Belt and by other such environments sometimes claiming a self-elected precedence!), the death of intelligence becomes a voluntary act, even touted as a piousact!

Therefore, back to basics:

Dialectics of nature and Darwin. Without forgetting Friedrich Engels ...

Dialectics of history and Man emerging as a social animal, at the end of a natural phase first demonstrated by Darwin. The historical becoming of Man does indeed follow an intelligent design, it is that of the historical becoming of Man himself and of his conscience. This becoming is now endangered by the genetic manipulations pursued by the proponents of the overmanideology, notwithstanding the fact that these manipulations contravene the most basic formulation of the precautionary principle and thus have the potential to undermine the whole human species as a species.

Can there be other consciences in different universes? Why not? Elsewhere I have argued in favor of a research deprived of any preconceptions flowing from a conception of life uniquely based on carbon. This remains a conjecture to be treated scientifically (if you wish, according to Darwin's methodological spirit but as it applies to Marxist psychoanalysis). Would they be able to interact with our own conscience? Idem. But it remains unclear why one should negate Darwin or, rather, the accumulated modern theory of evolution made possible by Darwin? Above all it remains unclear why these conjectures should be thought to undermine the libre arbitreof Man and his intrinsic responsibility in making his own history as a free species, composed by definition of free and equal Human Beings? If, through empirical evidence and by ontological definition, Man is born within nature, and nothing else that would be created sui generis within or beside nature, something which by definition would be literally incomprehensible, it would indeed be a modest intelligence that would result from the theory of intelligent design. It would first and foremost incriminate the intelligent Creatorthus so cavalierly assumed and so outrageously humiliated, certainly not Darwin! Deprived of its mysterious providentialways or of any demonstrable, if vaguely anthropomorphic manifestation in this world, it would display a pitiable allure, and would probably be obliged to look for worthy worshipers somewhere else! In reality, aside for the possible vicious circle, this theory would necessarily end up being subsumed into a form or other of evolution ( dialectics of Nature) or to something akin to human intelligence (dialectic of history rooted in the dialectic of nature), but at diverse stages of development, which by definition can act and interact with Nature but without creating it ex nihilo. If I recall correctly it seems to me that Vico had shown this few centuries ago: but Vico is an eminent though somewhat neglected ancestor of the Enlightenment, a philosophy naturally opposed by anticipation to any form of Nietzscheism whatsoever, philo-Semitic or not. Will he end up in the Index due to the domination of the modern flows of communication currently in the hands of these assorted ignorant neo-crusaders now deadly intent on rebuilding of a temple made of stone, no doubt destined to blind the sight of common mortals as to their incomparable intellectual and ethical nudity? While in the process buying some indulgences for their numerous war crimes or their unabashed apologies of the same? That Man was created in the imageof his creatoris quite a vain thought when one is unable to minimally define this later word in an non-circular and empty fashion! However, the proposition can be reversed according to the hypothesis clearly based on the projection of observable and verifiable facts compatible with the dialectics of nature, of history and of their ''overall dialectic'' (ie ''dialectique d'ensemble'', by which the dialectic of ''distincts'' and the dialectic of ''opposites'' either objectified conceptual, institutional or material realities come together in a ''contradictory identity'' as I have shown elsewhere. Man as a conscious and social Being is the epitome and the agent of this ''dialectique d'ensemble'' but only if he is understood in Marxist terms as the subject and the result of this becoming that assumes different forms (''historical blocs'') according to the specific mode of production and epoch in which s/he is obliged to live.) We all should re-read Feuerbach and Marx before we manifest any form of unjustified conceit in the vacuous and rather prosaic if uncouth fashion of a Nietzsche. For this studied cynical behavior is the exact opposite of an authentic provocation capable to act as a dialectical demiurge conscious of the orientation of all becoming. Clearly it merely is intended to justify the numerous crimes committed against our own species and against the Nature from which it is derived. In another take of the same, the dialectic of Being and Nothingness presupposes the dialectics of Chaos and Becoming just as ''existence'' precedes ''essence''. In the eyes of J-P Sartre this situation grants Man the possibility to ask the crucial question of his responsible choice as a citizen acting in the given set of contemporary circumstances in which he finds himself placed , a choice conceived as the sole mean through which to attain his Being in himself (en soi) and for himself (pour soi) understood as a conscious historical bloc(to use Gramsci's phrase) in a society ultimately freed from the realm of necessity thanks to a collective and democratic form of planning.

It is possible today to show the complexity of the social behavior of great monkeys, animals that rely on sexual reproduction. No doubt an another example of intelligent design. But one, we should admit, that is of a different order than that of the symbiosis of certain plants, the versatility of orchids or the role of the pilot fish! Think with clear and un-preconceived ideas, aren't we always told? True, all this is of little use for philo-Semite Nietzschean ideologies. The bonobo monkeys at least are a peaceful species and an uncircumcised one at that, one that is more in tune with popular wisdom (swords into plowshares) and with the first imperative of creation than many small or great cultic officers, monkeying without the least legitimacy the presumed roles of would-be religious or secular Great Priests!

This whole anti-evolution claptrap is ill-intentioned and nauseating. Gobineau and friends can never be too far, even in the disguise of a cast election opportunistically conferred by an unidentifiable ''god'' and/or by predestination. We are here dealing with antiquated beliefs which once traveled along the Silk Road and the Indus. They go hand in hand with the slow emergence of class societies as is emblematically testified by the legendary fate destined by the Rama of the Brahmans to Sri Lanka, to which the syphilitic Nietzsche owed much, intellectually speaking, via the English occupation and the reformulation in this specific light of the Burkean Tradition by the intelligence servicesof the Armies of Her Most Gracious Majesty. Baptism and resuscitation traveled along the same roads, although this last concept experienced an Hellenic and Essenian decanting thanks to its detours through the African stretches of the Silk Road and notably through Ancient Egypt, an human adventure that can hardly be negated. It suffices to come back to the great ethical and methodological principles (Socrates, Kant, Marx) to realize the dangerous potential for a regression contained in these baseless ideological attacks. And to realize the ontological lack of intelligence in raising the question in such a manner. Superstition is one of the main sources of pernicious exclusivist political and religious fanaticism. I have attempted to explain elsewhere that it is precisely this non-exclusivist warning that forms the very heart of the ethical universal message contained within each religion worthy of the name. That is to say in historically dated systems of thoughts that attempt to apprehended the world with a synthetic mind. Nonetheless the analytic explanations are no less ancient and they have the privilege of not confusing their task with a defense of the established social order. It is notably illustrated by Socrates and few others before and after him. They took great care to avoid being the willing dupes of what they acutely knew to have no real knowledge of, and which they therefore had to research and attempt to explain in the most rigorous, disinterested and humble scientific fashion. Often away from their own cultural origins, as is brilliantly testified by Plato.

Nietzsche and many of his biblical and religious inspirations notwithstanding, the a-method is not an acceptable method in any scientific field, including the social sciences. The acorn of the oak tree of Hegelian memory mystifies many dead woods full of their superstitious suffisance here and there ... they are but pitresalways ready to dig their own Procrustean bed. Sometime perversely fancying in the process to be digging ours!

NOTE 16-08-2005: Rapid commentary on the article by Stéphane Foucart entitled ''Sur la piste d'une hypothétique langue mère'' (''on the trail of an hypothetical mother tongue'') in www.lemonde.fr, of the same day.

(Summary of the article: It would seem that some people want to contest the Statutes of the Société linguistique de Paris. This institution professes a strictly scientific vocation. It thus puts aside any metaphysical consideration as extraneous to its own object of study and its scientific activities. This is the only thinkable attitude. Yet, it seems to bother many people since the goal of this article is to present the most pointed critiques originally offered with the hope to create an unjustified public controversy on the subject. These originate mostly with American linguists such as Joseph Grennberg and his disciple Merritt Ruhlen (author of ''L'Origine des langues'', éd. Belin, coll. ''Débats'') whose sociological origins cannot be ignored given their intention to defend the thesis of a ''mother tongue'' with the biblical metaphors as a permanent backdrop. Personally, I believe that this thesis, especially when it is approached in this fashion, contains all the errors already pointed out in connection with the fallacious theory of an ''intelligent design''. For one thing, above all in the countries using a language derived from Chaucer's, it should be obvious that languages do evolve historically all the while managing to remain the ''same'' ''maternal tongues''! They are never given a priori as a ''completeness'' which would make both Godel and Wittgenstein laugh their head off! I therefore offer this rapid commentary. You are invited to come up with your own critique.)

It would seem that the answer to these rather stale ''hypotheses'' (which are vaguely tainted by many silent assumptions and mental restrictions such as those relating to Adam and the ''divine'' creation of the first human male, the first woman being a sort of afterthought in this rather avowedly failed experiment) is neatly contained in the learning experiences of monkeys. I am thinking here in particular about Washo and Koko and the exceptional band of pedagogues and students who have demonstrated an essential fact, namely that human oral communication, an idiom among many others, is not accessible to monkeys despite the fact that they are recognized as intelligent animals. This is simply because they do not possess the morphological traits which are a necessary prerequisite to allow all the sounds that characterize the vast possibilities of human vocalization, given a pertinent auditive band. The answer is equally contained in some ancient Hindu texts which try to classify human ''sounds'' as well as their modulations and their combinations. (As we know taxonomy is an ancient and ingrained Hindu passion ...)

The question is identical to that of the origin of Mankind (or rather of ''man''). Did Man arrive already armed and full of conceit about himself (and thus to be avoided) or did He stabilize slowly as a particular ''species'' offering multiple possibilities but all contained withing a certain specter that is characteristic of the human species? This does not prejudge the question as to what the species can accomplish when it develops artificial ways and means to understand and manipulate other specters (tools) that otherwise would remaining outside the purview of His own natural possibilities. However this answer would invalidate the rather primitives theories dealing with the alleged innate structures of (oral and written) human language, a set of theories that always confuse the effects with the material precondition necessary to produce them.

Therefore: Brain is a physical organ. Mind is its specifically human historical and social extension. This does not excludes the resilience of ''instincts'' (neurones in the spinal cord and the nervous system for instance.) Nor the possible existence of other forms of superior life capable to develop different forms of conscience and language but in different specters that are non yet comprehensible to modern physics. However the laws of physics as well as the criteria of science remain coherent and cannot tolerate any deus ex machina ontologically impossible to integrate. Metaphysics and science are strictly antithetical. Above all they do not deal with the same object nor with the same finalities, even when they struggle with the same phenomena.

INTELLIGENT DESING OU ''PITRES''?

La théorie de l'évolution est une théorie scientifique qui ne prétend pas donner toutes les réponses mais qui insiste sur la méthode. De plus, elle a beaucoup évolué depuis Darwin comme théorie et comme ensemble de résultats, y compris la compréhension plus fine de certaines régressions etc .Comme méthode, elle est la seule acceptable car elle interdit de se prononcer dans des domaines qui ne regardent pas l'évolution en soi, c'est-à-dire la genèse historique du monde et de ses éléments, ce qui inclut l'homme et la conscience de sa conscience. Les écarts des théoriciens théocratiques anti-évolution (de vulgaires ''théologiens'' illégitimes et déguisés?) n'ont rien de scientifiques. Ils se réduisent à un pur charlatanisme de ''pitres'' agités qui, de ce fait, ne devraient pas avoir leur place dans les institutions de la connaissance. Au contraire, les épigones de cette science philo-sémite nietzschéenne devraient être priés de reprendre des cours de propédeutique. Leur juste place serait dans les organisations religieuses ou métaphysiques légitimes relevant du domaine privé mais coexistant hors de la vie politique de la Cité. Cette exigence découle d'ailleurs de la séparation constitutionnelle du religieux et du politique.

Voici quelques questions rhétoriques offertes comme prophylaxie à ce ''retour'' de l'obscurantisme armé:

Mais alors quelles preuves a-t-on pour procéder à la manière des tenants de l' ''intelligent design'', sinon la schizophrénie? Et en quoi la schizophrénie a-t-elle quelque chose à voir avec l'évolution ou la ''création'' en tant que telles? Pitres et doubles pitres! 2) S'il existe un ''intelligent design'' (concept anglo-saxon philo-sémite nietzschéen malgré Darwin) pourquoi le capitalisme peut-il, de par une exploitation nuisible pour la planète et la vie en générale, mener à la disparition de milliers d'espèces vivantes chaque année? Ces espèces ne relèveraient-elles pas elles aussi du même ''intelligent design'' de la Création ou bien ce ''design'' a-t-il changé en cour de route pour devenir, ma foi, très Nietzschéen? Que l'erreur et la correction des erreurs fassent partie de l'intelligence voilà qui est rassurant (et très darwinien). Mais pourquoi alors cela devrait-il se faire au prix de ces hécatombes lorsque la science moderne a établi un ensemble génétique commun à toutes les espèces terrestres? Les effets les plus néfastes des sociétés de domination de l'Homme par l'Homme culminant dans le capitalisme néolibéral global seraient-ils tout à coup devenus le summum des manifestations de cet ''intelligent design''? Pour quelle cause exactement?

3) Du temps des Lumières en cherchant à faire la part du divin, du naturel et de l'humain, on a finalement opté pour la séparation de la transcendance (largement morale) d'avec l'immanence. Autrement dit les théories de l' ''intelligent design'' n'ont rien à voir avec la nécessité scientifique (méthodologique et théorique) de toujours repasser les théories existantes au crible des faits nouvellement accumulés. Elles ont spécifiquement plus à voir avec le cynisme de caste cherchant 0 fabriquer un consensus pseudo-''scientifique'' (i e utilitaire et théocratique) philo-sémite nietzschéen ou d'une semblable mouture. La formation artificielle de ce consensus est puissamment aidée par la présence de trop nombreux ''diplômes compassionnels et de caste}'', (cette misère de la pitié inégalitaire qui produit tout naturellement ses effets pervers naturels, maintenant donnés comme nouvelle ''méritocratie'' !). 4) Les Tartuffes (2) nietzschéens-croisés de la ''farce'' (ou ''tour'' au sens de Nietzsche) de l' ''intelligent design'' seraient-ils prêts à gager leurs positions sur leur capacité à fournir une preuve scientifique au moins aussi solide que celle fournie par la théorie moderne de l'évolution (y compris certains processus moléculaires lamarckiens parfaitement compatibles et récemment et hypothétiquement mis en lumière par des chercheurs suédois) en faveur d'un âge biblique de la Terre remontant à quelques 6000 ans, plus ou moins? Autrement, tout en laissant de côté l'embarrassante question de Jéricho, ils devraient nous dire sur la base de quel critères ils choisissent de croire en telle chose plutôt que telle autre. Mettre en lumières les lacunes des théories existantes est une noble obligation scientifique. Cependant quand on essaie de se livrer à cet exercice il faut d'abord prendre soin de s'assurer de la position à partir de laquelle on parle: si l'on est capable de circuler en toute sécurité sur la route scientifique, dont on sait pourtant qu'elle n'est jamais donnée comme Voie Royale, on gagne l'estime de soi-même et quelquefois des autres. Mais si vous êtes déjà tombés dans la vacuité abyssale de certains raisonnements, on ne pourra que rire de vous. Cette exigence à propos des 6000 ans n'est donc pas rhétorique. Au contraire, elle devrait être strictement conçue comme une simple question de décence dans toutes les institutions. Par contre, elle devrait être une question de déontologie professionnelle d'application automatique et obligatoire dans toutes les institutions et les universités recevant des fonds publics.

Première conclusion inévitable:

Les critères d'octroi des diplômes et d'embauche doivent être revus d'urgence (y compris 0 l'Université Yale avec ou malgré son sacré calice et ses reliques inavouables).

Dialectique de la nature et Darwin. Sans oublier Friedrich Engels ...

Dialectique historique et émergence de l'Homme comme ''animal social'', après la phase d'évolution naturelle scientifiquement démontrée par Darwin. Le devenir historique de l'Homme répond bien à un ''intelligent design'', c'est celui du devenir historique de l'Homme et de sa conscience. Ce devenir est aujourd'hui mis en danger par les manipulations génétiques des épigones fascistes-théocratiques de la théorie des ''surhommes'' qui, en contrevenant au principe de précaution le plus élémentaire, risquent de remettre en question l'Espèce humaine en tant qu'Espèce.

Peut-il y avoir d'autres consciences dans d'autres univers? Pourquoi pas? J'ai même argumenté en faveur d'une recherche hors des sentiers battus de la vie (et donc ultimement de l'intelligence) fondée sur le carbone. Ceci reste une conjecture à traiter scientifiquement (si l'on veut à la manière de Darwin mais par lapsychoanalyse marxiste). Qui seraient capables d'interagir avec les nôtres? Idem. Mais en quoi faudrait-il nier Darwin (ou plutôt la théorie moderne de l'évolution développée après et grâce à Darwin)? Surtout en quoi faudrait-il nier le ''libre arbitre'' de l'Homme et sa responsabilité intrinsèque à faire sa propre historie comme espèce libre, composée, par définition, d'Hommes libres et égaux entre eux? Si, par évidence empirique et par définition ontologique, l'Homme est issu de la Nature, et de rien d'autre qui soit créé sui generis au sein ou à côté de la Nature et qui, par conséquent, serait impossible à appréhender, c'est une intelligence bien modeste qui résulterait de cette théorie de l' ''intelligent design''. Elle incriminerait en premier lieu le ''Créateur intelligent'' si cavalièrement supposé et si outrageusement humilié et non pas Darwin! Privé des voies mystérieuses de sa ''providence'' ou de ses interactions démontrables et vaguement anthropologiques dans le monde, il aurait une bien piteuse mine et serait sans doute contraint de se chercher des ouailles ailleurs! En fait, à part le possible circolo vizioso, cette théorie se résumerait soit à l'évolution (dialectique de la Nature) soit à l' intelligence humaine(dialectique de l'histoire ancrée dans la dialectique de la Nature) à des degrés d'évolution divers, qui par définition peut agir et interagir sur la Nature mais non pas la créer ex nihilo. Il me semble que Vico avait déjà dit cela voici quelques siècles: mais Vico est un ancêtre éminent de la Philosophie des Lumières, donc naturellement anti-philo-sémite nietzschéen ou simplement anti-nietzschéen tout court par anticipation. Finira-t-il à l'Index du fait de la domination obscurantiste des flux de communication modernes par ces ignares croisés qui veulent rebâtir un temple de pierre, sans doute destiné à aveugler le commun des mortels sur leur inégalable nudité intellectuelle et éthique? Tout en dédouanant leurs nombreux crimes de guerre ou l'apologie qu'ils n'hésitent pas à en faire? Que l'Homme ait été créé à l'image de ''dieu'' est assez plaisant lorsque l'on ne sait pas quoi entendre exactement par ce mot! Mais la proposition peut être renversée selon hypothèse pour le moins fondée sur la projection de données vérifiables et compatibles avec la dialectique de la Nature, la dialectique de l'histoire et leur dialectique d'ensemble (c'est-à-dire la dialectique par laquelle la dialectique des ''distincts'' et la dialectique des ''opposés'', mettant en oeuvre des réalités objectives conceptuelles, institutionnelles ou matérielles, s'unissent en des ''identités contradictoires'' comme je l'ai montré ailleurs. L'Homme comme Etre social doué de conscience est l'épitome et l'agent tout à la fois de cette dialectique d'ensemble, mais seulement s'il est compris en termes marxistes comme sujet et résultat de son devenir historique exprimé selon des formes différentes (blocs historiques) correspondant 0 différents modes de production et différentes époques sociales au sein de ces modes où il est contraint de vivre.) Relisons alors assidûment Feuerbach et Marx avant de nous monter le collet de manière prosaïque et grossière à la Nietzsche. Car ce comportement tout à la fois affecté et cynique est l'exact contraire d'une authentique provocation capable d'agir comme démiurge dialectique conscient du sens profond de tout devenir et sert simplement à tenter de justifier des crimes nombreux contre notre propre Espèce et contre la Nature dont elle est issue. La dialectique de l'Etre et du Néant suppose la dialectique du Chaos et du Devenir, tout comme l'existence précède l'essence. Ce qui aux yeux de Sartre permettait de poser la question primordiale du choix responsable de l'Homme selon sa situation contemporaine, seul moyen de parvenir à l'Etre en soi et pour soi compris comme un ''bloc social'' (selon le mot de Gramsci.) dans une société finalement libérée de l'emprise de la nécessit9 grâce à la planification collective démocratique.

On montre aujourd'hui la complexité de la sociabilité des grands singes, des animaux dépendants de la reproduction sexuée. Autre exemple d' ''intelligent design''. Mais qui est, admettons-le, d'un autre ordre que celui de la symbiose de certains plantes, la polyvalence des orchidées ou du rôle du poisson pilote! Pensez avec des idées claires et non préconçues, conseille-t-on. D'accord! tout cela reste très peu philo-sémite Nietzschéen. Les singes bonobo au moins sont pacifiques, quoique non-circoncis, et bien plus fidèles à la sagesse populaire (fondre les épées en socles de charrue) et au premier impératif de la création que nombre de petits et de grands officiants de cultes divers, singeant sans aucune légitimité les soi-disant Grands Prêtres religieux ou séculiers!

Tout ce blabla anti-évolutionniste est mal intentionné et nauséabond. Gobineau et compagnie peuvent-ils être bien loin, même dissimulés sous les dehors de l'élection de caste conférée par un ''dieu'' opportunément non-identifiable et/ou par la prédestination? Il s'agit là de croyances ayant circulé sur la Route de la Soie et l'Indus. Elles vont de pair avec la lente naissance des sociétés de classe comme en témoigne le sort légendaire fait par le Rama des brahmanes au Sri Lanka, auquel le syphilitique Nietzsche devait intellectuellement beaucoup via l'occupation anglaise et la reformulation de la Tradition burkéenne par les services des armées de Sa Très Gracieuse Majesté pour les besoins de la cause! Baptême et résurrection ont le même parcours avec, pour ce dernier concept, une décantation hellénique et essénienne dont le détour par la portion africaine de la Route de la Soie notamment l'Égypte ancienne ne peut être nié. Il suffit de revenir aux grands principes éthiques et méthodologiques (Socrate, Kant et Marx) pour se rendre compte du grave danger de régression contenu dans ces attaques idéologiques sans fondements. Et du défaut congénital d'intelligence dans la manière de poser le problème. La superstition est une des sources pernicieuse principale du fanatisme exclusiviste religieux et politique. J'ai tenté d'expliquer ailleurs que c'est justement là, dans cette mise en garde non-exclusiviste, que résidait le coeur du message éthique universel contenu dans chaque religion. C'est-à-dire dans des systèmes historiquement datés tentant de penser le monde par le biais de la ''pensée synthétique''. Mais le cheminement ''analytique'' autour des mêmes considérations n'est pas moins ancien. Surtout, il jouit du privilège de ne pas confondre son rôle avec celui de la défense de l'ordre social établi. Il est notamment illustré par Socrate et quelques autres avant et après lui, qui prenaient le plus grand soin à ne pas être dupes de ce qu'ils savaient ignorer et donc forcés de chercher à expliquer avec une rigueur, un désintéressement et une humilité toute scientifique. Parfois hors de leurs cultures d'origines, comme en témoigne brillamment Platon.

N'en déplaise à Nietzsche et à certains de ses inspirateurs plus ou moins bibliques et religieux, l'a-méthode n'est pas une méthode recevable en matière de science, y compris les sciences sociales. Le gland du chêne d'hégélienne mémoire fait tourner en rond bien des glandeurs remplis de suffisance superstitieuse ... donc des ''pitres'' toujours prêts à creuser leur lit de Procruste. Parfois en croyant, avec une bonne dose de perversion, creuser le nôtre!

1)John Stuart Mill a fourni le parfait exemple de ce raisonnement en soulignant que si l'on naviguait le long d'une côte sans jamais faire demi-tour et que l'on aboutissait soudain à son point de départ nous serions alors sûrs qu'il s'agit d'une île.

2)Molière, à l'instar de plusieurs de ses contemporains anglais, était plus éveillé que de nombreux esprits modernes supposément éduqués. Shakespeare n'hésitait pas à reformuler de façon parfois fort galante certaines fables romaines critiquant les croyances irrationnelles. Certaines gens finissent vraiment par devenir ce qu'ils sont réellement. L'environnement et le climat y ont naturellement leur part.

NOTE DU 16.08.2005: Commentaires rapides sur l'article de Stéphane Foucart intitulé ''Sur la piste d'une hypothétique langue mère'' publié dans le www.lemonde.fr , 16.08.04

(Résumé de l'article: Il semblerait que l'on veuille contester les statuts de la Société linguistique de Paris. Cette institution à vocation strictement scientifique écarte toute considération métaphysique de son propre champ d'étude et de ses activités. Cette attitude, seule recevable, semble gêner beaucoup de monde puisque le but de l'article est de mentionner les tentatives de remise en cause qui espèrent créer une controverse médiatique injustifiée. Elles proviennent surtout de linguistes américains tel Joseph Greenberg et son disciple Merritt Ruhlen (auteur de L'Origine des langues, éd. Belin, coll. ''Débats'') dont la provenance sociologique ne peut être passée sous silence, vu la thèse d'une ''langue mère'' qu'ils s'acharnent à défendre en ayant les métaphores bibliques en tète. Personnellement, j'y vois le même type d'erreurs méthodologiques et théoriques caractéristiques de la théorie de l' ''intelligent design''. On ne peut s'empêcher de remarquer, surtout dans les pays pratiquant la langue de Chaucer, que le langage évolue historiquement bien qu'il demeurât pendant tout ce temps la même langue maternelle. Il n'est jamais donné a priori comme une complétude qui ferait d'ailleurs mourir de rire Godel et Wittgenstein! D'où ces commentaires rapides. A vous maintenant de réfléchir plus avant)

Il semblerait que la réponse à ces ''hypothèses'', quelque peu teintées d'arrière-pensées déjà peu scientifiques (ie Adam et la création ''biblique'' du mâle humain, la création de la femme étant une sorte de reprise d'un projet à moitié échoué!), soit contenue dans les expériences sur l'apprentissage des singes (Les pédagogues de Washo, Koko et toute cette bande exceptionnelle de maîtres et élèves ont démontré une chose essentielle, à savoir que la communicationorale humaine, un idiome parmi d'autres, n'est pas à la portée des singes, êtres pourtant doués d'intelligence, car leur morphology ne leur permet pas les possibilités de vocalisation caractéristiques du langage humain, le spectre sonore étant admis). Elle est également contenue dans certains textes hindous anciens qui tentent justement de classifier les ''sons'' ainsi que leurs modulations et combinaisons (la taxonomie est une vieille passion indienne ....)

La question est la même que celle de l'origine de l'homme. Arrivé tout armé et imbu de lui-même et donc peu fréquentable à ce titre, ou bien se stabilisant peu à peu comme ''espèce'' particulière offrant des possibilités multiples mais dans un certain spectre de possibilités déterminé par les caractéristiques de l'espèce? Sans préjuger de ce que l'espèce peut accomplir en se dotant artificiellement (outils) de la connaissance et de la manipulation des autres spectres de possibilités hors de sa détermination naturelle propre. Ceci invalide également les théories primaires des structures innées du langage qui confondent simplement les effets et les conditions matérielles servant à produire ces effets.

Donc: le cerveau (brain) est l'organe physique. L'esprit (mind) c'est son extension historique et sociale proprement humaine. Ce qui n'interdit pas la survivance de l'instinct (par exemple les neurones de la moelle épinière et du système nerveux.) Ni l'existence possible d'autres formes de vie supérieures qui auraient pu développer d'autres formes de conscience et de langage mais dans des spectres différents encore non appréhendables par la physique moderne. Cependant, les lois de la physique de même que les critères de la science demeurent cohérents et ne supportent pas de deus ex machina ontologiquement non intégrable. La métaphysique et la science sont strictement antithétiques. Surtout elles n'ont pas le même objet ni les même finalités même lorsqu'elles affrontent les mêmes phénomènes.
